1. Where do I find the model and serial number on my barbecue?

The model and serial numbers are located on the gas caution sticker. This sticker is located in one of two locations, either on the bottom shelf down by the wheels, or on the rear cart support bar, located on the back of the barbecue just below the bottom casting.

2. Can I store my barbecue outside?

It’s best to store your barbecue under cover in a damp-free place such as a shed.  Don’t leave it exposed to the weather.  If you have to leave your barbecue outside, make sure you protect it with a heavy duty weatherproof cover, available from most DIY stores and garden centres.

Gas bottles should not be stored inside the house, they must be stored in a well-ventilated area away from any source of ignition.

3. How can I make sure my barbecue is safe?

Barbecuing is not only one of the most relaxing ways to cook up a meal for many, it’s a sure way to deliver the true taste of summer for your guests.  Follow our tips to ensure that friends and family remember the dinner not the disaster.

  • Position your barbecue on a firm, level surface at least 1m away from anything combustible such as fences, trees and sheds.
  • Don’t use petrol, paraffin, methylated spirit, lighter fluid or alcohol to light your barbecue.
  • Keep children and pets at a safe distance.
  • Use gloves and long-handled heat-resistant tools at all times.
  • Be careful of escaping steam when opening barbecue hood.
  • Always keep gas bottle upright and don’t put it under a barbecue.
  • Don’t move your barbecue until it has completely cooled.
  • Don’t allow fat to build up as this can cause fires.

4. What fuel should I use?

You can buy gas cylinders from petrol station, DIY stores and some garden centres.  Certain stores offer home-delivery options.

First time buyers pay for a refundable deposit, which is returned once you decide you don’t need the cylinder any more.  When empty, you just exchange for a full bottle.  You only pay for the gas content.

Always use the specified gas (butane or propane) and regulator – details of which will be in your instructions.
